
We are going to be analyzing some advertisements in order to understand if the male body is being used as an object in them.
This comes to life departing from the idea that for long the female body has been used as a desire object in advertisement to transmit a life style or to create a strong shopping need on consumers by trying to emulate the perfection behold on the models, so does the same happen to men? is the male body used as an object as well? why is not scandalous when males are “denigrated” in ads but it is when women?
As an example, the image above is ad that was banned in Australia. If the same image would have been done with three women and one man, would it have been banned?
